Well day 5 is also in the books.  363 miles.  Weather has been good so far.

It was as low as 32° going up Lolo pass highway.  Ended here at Pasco, Wa around 75°.

Lots of deer this morning and before noon.  The ones before noon were next to the road.  This road is Cavendish from Ashahka west to ID 3.  Ran along a very recent fire burn on this road.

Lolo Pass highway we basically had it to ourselves.  ID side was repaved in 2018.  Nice travel pace and almost no braking for these sweeping curves.

In eastern Washington there are not only vast wheat fields but many apple orchards and grape vines.  Large tracts of grapes.  Also corn, potatoes and other crops.

What would a Kevin lead route be without gravel.  Looked at ID DOT site.  Cool no road closures on route.  This road was closed.  So we decided to take the gravel detour of 2.25 miles instead of back tracking the 20ish miles to take a different highway.  GPS helps in seeing where the road went before we took it.  Once settled in at the motel I looked closer.  The road that was closed was NOT a state or federal road.  A county road. Explains why it was not on the State site.

Not all of our stays are at a Super 8
